EULANDA® ERP System Head Start thru Technology
With the introduction of Service pack 3 (Microsoft® SQL Server 2000) and Service pack 2 (Windows® XP) several changes took place concerning several security issues. Some of those changes affect the network installation of the EULANDA® ERP software.
First, the server side communication with the clients has to be established. Assumption: the network already uses the TCP/IP protocol on file level.
Set the SQL protocol to TCP/IP on that machine which runs the Microsoft® SQL Server 2000. To do so, open the program EULANDA® on the server (SQL server). In the main menu right click and choose "Administration / Protocols" and there "Server protocols".
In the right window, the TCP/IP protocol should be visible as only protocol. When that setting was changed, you have to reboot the system before going on.
In case the machine, running the Microsoft® SQL Server 2000, is a Windows® XP Professional SP2 (or newer) workstation, you will have to configure the build-in firewall. The firewall can be found on "System settings" and there "Windows Firewall". On the tab "Exemptions" click on the button "Port" and add "SQL Server" (Name), 1433 (Port) and check "TCP".
When done, hit "OK".
The folder, holding the EULANDA.EXE must be shared with access rights and rights for changes. As for the EULANDA.EXE itself, normal rights for reading will do.
Pull a link from the shared network folder, holding the EULANDA.EXE onto the desktop of each individual workstation.
Set the SQL protocol to TCP/IP on the workstations. To do so, open the program EULANDA® on the each workstation. In the main menu right click and choose "Administration / Protocols" and there "Client protocols".
In the right window, the TCP/IP protocol should be visible as only protocol. When that setting was changed, you have to reboot the system before going on.
The button "Update" is only visible on that machine, on which the program was installed originally from CD. Only there the update can be launched. Updates can be done via Internet or CD.
