Database - Navigation
The navigator allows to handle your data quick and easy. For most actions, the navigator assumes a record set. Actions available include edit, insert and delete.
By entering any search criteria and subsequently pressing ENTER, a query is generated and the database server returns subset of the entire data, hence a result set. This result set is shown in the screen, record for record.
If because of the search criteria more than one data record is found, you can use the tools from the navigator to page thru the result set. If in page mode you can alternatively show the data in a browser. User the browser symbol from the tool bar.

Jumps back to the first data record of the record set, alternatively use the HOME key from the keyboard. |

Changes back to prior record set, alternatively use the Arrow LEFT key from the keyboard. |

Changes to the next record set, alternatively use the Arrow RIGHT key from the keyboard. |

Jumps to the last data record of the record set, alternatively use the END key from the keyboard. |

The current data record will be put in edit mode. In addition the background color changes to emphasis this action. The action path reflects this action. In order to change pictures, the record has to be in edit mode as well. Alternatively use the ENTER key an the keyboard. In order to edit a picture, double click the picture area. |

Use this symbol to save your data, alternatively use CTRL+Enter. |

If you have altered a data record or are in the process to add a new one, this will undo the changes or abort the current function. Alternatively use ESC. |

Incase you want to add a new record, click on this symbol. The screen - the data fields - will be initialized, meaning all fields will be emptied respectively filled with default values. The background color of the fields is changed to better visualize the action. The info path reflects the action. After entering all data click on the checkmark or simply press CTRL+ENTER to save the data. |

The current data record can be erased, unless it is connected to any other object or module in the database; e.g. you can not delete an address if this address is used in an existing invoice, an article can not be erased when part of an active sales order etc. This action is done in the database server itself. In case of any references found, the database aborts the process and returns an error message. |

To initiate a new search click this symbol. Enter any search criteria in an any of the fields in the input screen. Hit ENTER to start the query. The result set can be paged (arrow keys), edited (ENTER) or deleted (DEL). To return into the search mode, you may use ESC key as well. |

Calls the Info system for the currently active data record. Alternatively use CTRL+I; for the general Info system for all data, press SHIFT+CTRL+I. |

Opens the browser. Can be invoked pressing CTRL+ENTER. |
