EULANDA® ERP System Head Start thru Technology
This short introduction of the Help System of Windows® should be read by anyone operating the EULANDA® ERP. It is a known fact and has been confirmed by many conversations with our customers and on workshops / training sessions that too many users do not have sufficient knowledge of the basic search functions build in. These are vital to effectively use and operate the Help System. so do take a little time to read thru this chapter.
Your ERP system uses Microsoft's® HTML-based Help System, thus allowing to provide a context sensitive program help system on one side and use the same HTML pages on our homepage under „http://www.eulanda.de/en/inside“.
This electronic Help System is developed on the WEB. The
most current version is always available at „http://www.eulanda.de/en/inside“.
It is refreshed every other week and then converted into the program's Help
System. That version can be found on our web pages, under "Documentation".
Suggestions made available to our Support team are worked into any new
version, thus enhancing your Online Documentation, each time a new version
is released.
As usual in Windows® based systems, Help is available by either selecting the function from the drop down menu "Help" or simply by pressing "F1". In case you receive a dialog box without a Help button, it means this dialog box is modal - underlying windows are frozen an the main screen of the help system can not be reached.
The Help System has two different setting - short and extended. Choose extended.

Abbreviated Help System
Above shown is the abbreviated help-System. Click on the button "Show" to see all information.

Extended View of the Help System
You'll see the contents, index and the search are for full text search. Optional you can create your own favorites as bookmarks.
Contents: Each of the aprox. 700 help pages can be seen here (corresponding to more than 1.500 pages printed). The operation is described in the User's manual. The other manauls cover the administration and development, for those planning to extend the program's functions.
Index: Most important search keys, alphabetical sorted. Words not shown may found anyway when using the option "Search"
Search: Full text search; In case the word searched for was not found, use the root form or only part of the word. You may juse wildcards and logical operators such as AND, OR, NOT.
Favorites: Bookmark pages important to you. Click on "ADD" to bookmark the respective page.
Hide / Show: Shows or hides the left tree structure.
Home: Jumps to the Home Page of the Help System
Print: Prints individual pages or the chapter
Options: Customizing the Help System
Qick Start: By clicking on this symbol in the tool bar, a special section of the help System is activated. This section covers the most important features and functions and helps you to get started the quickest way.
Help on Help: To return to this page from other sections of the Help System, click on this sign (Help-on-Help).
Since this system is based on the internet technology, hyperlinks are used to jump from one section to the next one. In addition, the tree on the left side of the Help System offers various possibilities to navigate the contents and help find what you are looking for.

Chapter Introduction
The date shown in the upper right corner, shows the last date this page has been modified / refreshed.
Directly underneath the headline you'll find the hyperlinks Back and Level back. Back is identical to the browser's function "back". It pages back one page, thus going back the same way you came. When reaching the beginning, this hyperlink has no function. Level back brings you back to next higher level under which the current page is located, showing the other pages to the same main topic.
click on the printer in the tool bar and print out either whole chapters, the whole handbook (make sure stocked sufficient paper) or just a single page. Which options are available depends on your cursor's position before clicking on the printer symbol. If you were in the directory, you can choose to print the chapter including or excluding the subordinated levels. Watch out, if your cursor was positioned on the first line underneath the headline, the entire manual is printed.
Hint
Stylkesheets*) are not taken into consideration while printing. If you have
not sufficient memory, picture may turn out as either white or black boxes.
This is a Windows® limitation and has nothing to do with the EULANDA® ERP
software.
*) Stylesheets hold fonts and formats.
Shows all pages of the tree. Underneath from EULANDA®-Handbooks you'll find:
Each of these manuals hold innumerous chapters. As used from the Windows® File Explorer, click on the chapter and expand each level as needed. Click on the page to read the corresponding text in the right window.
The User's Manual is structured the same way, the program is - e.g. Article Management is located under Basic Data in the program. The manual has a chapter "Basic Data" under which the Article Management can be found. This way, you'll find your each module easily in the manual.
This manual holds information important to the System Administrator and administration of the SQL Server. It was designed primarily for software technicians and other experienced users.
You want to develop extensions (Add-Ons) for the EULANDA® ERP - this is the place to look and learn what makes the program tick. It holds all the information available on the program's API's (Application Programming Interfaces).
Holds the index for the more important terms of all manuals. Click on any term, and the corresponding help page is shown. In case the term you are looking for is not listed, try the full text search for the same word.
The full text search is a powerful tool to find any word ever used in all of the pages written. Every word is saved in a FullTextIndex. On the tab "Search" enter the word you are looking for, or any part of the term needed, and you'll receive a listing of pages, where it was found. Try avoiding to search an exact term, but rather use the root form / infinitive of the term. That way you'll receive more hits and might find what you were looking for far easier.
Usually the searched for text has to be exactly the same than in the documentation used, e.g. search for "reminding" will not bring any result, because the word used in the text is "remeinder". In this case wildcards come in handy. Use "remin*" and most likely the term will be among other terms, beginning with the text entered.
Enter a combination like "*invoice* AND *account*" and receive only pages where BOTH words are found. The logical expression - in this case AND - has to be entered in capitol letters.
A combination like "*invoice* OR *account*" lists only pages where one or both of the two words is found. The logical expression - in this case OR - has to be entered in capitol letters.
A combination like "*invoice* NOT *account*" lists only pages where the word "*remind*" is found alone. The logical expression - in this case NOT - has to be entered in capitol letters.
Aside the local Help System, you can access the most current information via the EULANDA® ERP homepage on the Internet. Select "EULANDA® Handbooks" from the list on the left.
In the upper left hand corner, you'll find the search field, which is connected to Google's search machine. This way you'll receive as well all the word forms detected and the selection is sorted according to relevance. As more relevant the finding is, the earlier its appearance in the list.

Operating the help-System on the Internet
The web is multilingual. To switch the language, click on the links found in the upper right hand corner.
The current help file is always available at our knowledge base. If needed, download the file and copy it to the location the outdated file is found, which is the root folder of the EULANDA® ERP (C:\program files\CN Software GmbH\CN EULANDA\).
Hint
Because of new safety precautions from Windows®, *.chm files are initially
not usable after they are downloaded. Right click on the downloaded file and
select "Properties". Check / uncheck the corresponding fields and save the
changes. For further information also see the security chapter in the
Administrator's-Manual.
Because of new safety precautions from Windows®, *.chm files on the network are not shown any longer. EULANDA® ERP handles this problem automatically (starting from Version 2.7) provided the user has access to the WINDOWS® Registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE". If you do not have sufficient rights, please refer to the security chapter in the Administrator's-Manual.
