EULANDA® ERP System Head Start thru Technology
Below find the requirements for the use with EULANDA® with the various operating systems.
EULANDA® was tested with the following, fresh installed and German localized operating systems:
Windows® 95, Windows® 98, Windows® 98 SE, Windows® ME, Windows® NT 4 Workstation, Windows® NT 4 Server and older OS are definitely NOT supported.
SQL Server should have SP3 installed. SQL Server without any Service Pack installed or older Service Packs are not supported and may result in damaged data!
Recommendation
It is recommended to have Windows® XP Professional with Service Pack 2
installed on all EULANDA® workstations.
If not stated otherwise, the mentioned requirements are minimum and may be dimensioned larger.
The only thing required for both is a working internet connection and a free telephone line to our tutor.
During remote training, the tutor's desktop is shown on your screen while when remote supporting the software, your desktop is transmitted to our support department. Her fore we use a little tool (200 KB), which is to be downloaded from our servers. Load remot support...
If you want to use different hardware, please check with our technical support.
The EULANDA® Single-User-Version comes with the Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 Desktop edition. The max. size of the database is limited to 2 GB. In case larger databases are required, you have to purchase the Standard edition of Microsoft's® SQL Server 2000 for use with the EULANDA® ERP software..
The P2P version supports up to 5 individual workstations. This version does not support the Microsoft'® SQL Server 2000 standard or enterprise version, but only the included Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 Desktop Edition. In case you decide to use the full version of the Microsoft® SQL Server, EULANDA® Client/server or Enterprise Version is required. The max. size of databases is limited to 2 GB for the MSDE. In case larger databases are required, you have to use Microsoft's® SQL Server 2000 standard edition in conjunction with the EULANDA® Client/Server or Enterprise version.
Please refer to our hints for the Network installation.
You should never install front-end software on a Windows®-Server. This is true because of various reasons. For one, an administrator can only login once on a domain controller; furthermore because of different versions of the same DLL's the system inevitable would become instable.
The Client/Server system is required for 6 and more user and needs as minimum a Windows® 2000 Server with Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 installed. According to volume (No of User, Database Size, amount of transactions) a system running a double CPU may be necessary. The amount of RAM must be according to the volume. As rule of thump - for each GB database size, 500 MB RAM are to be added to the before mentioned minimum requirements (see above). If performance matters, you should consider the purchase and use of a RAID 5 Hard-Disk-Array. Furthermore, you should separate the data- and transaction files onto individual drives / raid systems. Since database servers are build for high performance and endurance, you should use only ÉCC RAM, since they recognized errors and which can be corrected automatically. These errors occur mainly due to the fact, that a large size of memory is packed an very little space so that emissions will easier cause errors.
Please refer to our hints for the Network installation.
Hint
For use with the Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 Standard or bigger, a EULANDA®-Client/Server- or EULANDA®-Enterprise-License
is required. Workstations with Windows® XP Home can NOT access the
full version of the Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 Standard;
Windows® XP Home therefore is limited to the single user version or
Peer2Peer networking up to 5 clients and a maximum database size of 2 GB.
